At Sebastian, we consider ourselves honoured and privileged to have as our Head Chef, Raul Roldan Muñoz who is not only in charge of our menus and food preparation but is also the Managing Partner of Restaurante Sebastian.Raul is a very popular and renowned chef in the South of Tenerife having worked in several establishments, and has established a reputation for producing quality fresh food, which tastes like real food should.Raul was born in Barcelona but returned at an early age to the family’s roots in Granada, and then moved to Tenerife 16 years ago where he completed his education in Los Abrigos. Learning the hard way, Raul started on the bottom rung as a kitchen assistant and worked his way up in numerous restaurants in Golf del Sur including Pueblo Primavera, Santa Barbara, and La Strada, a very popular Italian Restaurant at that time in San Blas. Before becoming Head Chef and Managing Partner at Restaurante Sebastian, Raul had been working for 9 years at another well known restaurant, Pato de Oro, where he was the original chef, and was central to the popularity of that restaurant. Raul believes that preparation is vital to the creation of good food, and fresh quality ingredients are the key to his success. He produces food that not only looks great, but tastes fantastic, and the way it is presented reflects his flair and originality. Great food takes time to prepare but when Raul Roldan Muñoz is the chef, the reward is delicious, imaginative food, with no compromises.
